Holistic Gospel Formation
A Just Savior for a Just Soul and a Just Society
The Gospel of Jesus Christ calls us into a life that is both deeply personal and fully missional. As we are reconciled to God through Christ, we are also formed into a people who reflect His character—marked by justice, mercy, and faithful witness in the world.
The Kingdom Justice & Mercy team exists to help the Church live out this holistic Gospel, where spiritual formation, discipleship, and mission remain inseparably connected to how we engage the brokenness within our communities.
Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself as both just and merciful. The Law, the Prophets, and ultimately Jesus Himself testify to a Kingdom where righteousness and compassion meet. In Luke 4, Jesus proclaims good news to the poor, freedom for the oppressed, and sight for the blind—demonstrating that the Gospel is not only declared, but also embodied.
This vision is deeply aligned with the historic DNA of the Christian & Missionary Alliance. A.B. Simpson’s emphasis on the “whole Gospel for the whole person” reminds us that Christ’s saving work addresses both the soul and the lived realities of people’s lives. As an Acts 1:8 family, we are sent to our neighborhoods and to the nations, carrying both the message and the ministry of Jesus.
For this reason, Kingdom Justice & Mercy is not treated as a program within the District, but as a core value that shapes how we disciple, lead, and serve. When embraced in this way, it equips churches to discern the needs within their own contexts, to engage with courage and clarity, and to align their ministry efforts around a shared vision of Gospel faithfulness.
As churches grow in this holistic formation, disciples become increasingly attentive to both the presence of God and the needs of their neighbors. The Church’s witness becomes more visible, more relational, and more credible, reflecting the reality of Christ’s Kingdom in both word and deed.
Focus Areas
Where the Gospel Takes Root in Real Communities
Kingdom Justice & Mercy provides a framework to help churches engage their communities through areas where biblical conviction, local need, and missional opportunity intersect.
These areas are not intended to prescribe uniform action, but to guide discernment. Each church is uniquely positioned within its context, and our aim is to help leaders identify where God is already at work and how they might faithfully join Him.

Extending hospitality and care to the foreigner, reflecting God’s heart for all peoples.
RACIAL UNITY
Cultivating reconciliation across ethnic and cultural lines as a visible expression of our unity in Christ.
Engaging These Areas
Rather than attempting to address every issue, churches are encouraged to:
Discern the most relevant needs in their community
Engage in ways that align with their calling and capacity
Take faithful, incremental steps toward deeper impact
Kingdom Justice & Mercy exists to support that process with clarity, encouragement, and practical guidance.
